Columus AP - Advance Pro Series Overview
Product Positioning, Model Range, Applications, Technical Architecture & Commercial Guidance
Final English series guide
1. Series Positioning |
Columus AP - Advance Pro is the premium / low-noise custom-engineered branch of the Columus inflatable light-tower family. It uses multi-layer sealed inner air cell plus protective/diffusing outer envelope; material stack is project-engineered and sealed-air / low-noise architecture designed to avoid continuous inflation-blower noise during normal operation. The series is aimed at film and broadcast support, premium event perimeters, acoustically sensitive locations, exhibitions, ceremonies and specialist custom projects.
AP is a premium custom-engineered branch rather than the main standard production family. Its defining direction is a sealed-air, low-noise structure that avoids continuous blower noise during normal operation and supports professional HMI or premium LED integration.
2. Application Difference & Relationship to Other Columus Series
Series | Full Name | Position | Material / Structure | Typical Use
SP | Standard Pro | Professional / upper-standard | Premium translucent flame-retardant, UV-resistant composite envelope | industrial night work, emergency response, rescue, infrastructure, mining, ports, airports, professional event support and film/TV support zones
SE | Standard Economic | Professional value / standardized | Flame-retardant waterproof rip-stop nylon envelope | construction, road works, fire and rescue, municipal maintenance, rental fleets, rail maintenance and general outdoor operations
EN | Entry Normal | Entry / essential-function | Oxford fabric or equivalent commercial entry-grade envelope | general temporary lighting, budget-sensitive rental, local maintenance, portable emergency staging and outdoor utility work
AP | Advance Pro | Premium / low-noise custom-engineered | Multi-layer sealed inner air cell plus protective/diffusing outer envelope; material stack is project-engineered | film and broadcast support, premium event perimeters, acoustically sensitive locations, exhibitions, ceremonies and specialist custom projects
The AP series shares the core Columus concept - an elevated diffused light source for fast temporary area illumination - but differs from the other branches in material, light-source choice, electrical/control sophistication, acoustic behavior and commercial positioning.
3. Model Range | ||||||||||
Model | Source | Power | Reference Output | Recommended Height | 10-20 lx Area
HMI575AP | HMI | 575 W | Approx. 49,000 lm planning reference | 3.0-4.0 m | 490-980 m²
HMI1200AP | HMI | 1200 W | Approx. 110,000 lm planning reference | 4.0 m (3.0-5.0 m by project) | 1,100-2,200 m²
LED400AP | Low-Noise LED | 400 W | 45,000-60,000 lm design target | 3.0-4.0 m | 525-1,050 m²
LED800AP | Low-Noise LED | 800 W | 90,000-120,000 lm design target | 3.0-4.0 m | 1,050-2,100 m²
4. Technical Architecture
Series architecture | Sealed-air / low-noise architecture designed to avoid continuous inflation-blower noise during normal operation
Envelope / structural material | Multi-layer sealed inner air cell plus protective/diffusing outer envelope; material stack is project-engineered
Tower heights | 2.0 / 2.5 / 3.0 / 4.0 / 5.0 m project options; 3.0 and 4.0 m are the most common family heights
Tower body | Approx. 400 mm class; final light head/base dimensions depend on configuration
Wind / weather | Model-specific confirmation required. Exact IP and wind limit follow final approved construction and anchoring.
Power | AC mains / generator across the range; selected low-power XN or COB versions can support DC or AC/DC operation
Branding | Logo / project identification on compatible tower envelopes
Packing | Reinforced export packing, plywood case or reusable flight case; final dimensions/weight reconfirmed before shipment
5. Light-Source Strategy
Technology | Platform | Start/Restrike | Control | Best-use Boundary
HMI | Professional HMI daylight discharge lamp | Fast / hot-restrike behavior depends on the selected HMI lamp and electronic ballast package | On/Off plus ballast-dependent dimming / frequency functions where supported | Higher cost and more specialized lamp/ballast handling than MH or standard LED; not the first choice for lowest-cost general construction lighting.
Low-Noise LED | High-output LED modules / strips integrated into the sealed-air AP structure | Instant | On/Off, dimming, DMX, remote / APP control and project-specific interfaces | Custom-engineered premium solution; not intended as the lowest-cost mass-market option.
6. Applications & Representative Cases
· Quiet film-location support: daylight-area illumination around a backlot, technical base or staging zone where continuous blower noise is undesirable.
· Premium event perimeter: elevated soft daylight support around entrances, hospitality or ceremony zones with low acoustic disturbance.
· Broadcast / production support: temporary broad-area illumination where professional ballast behavior and color quality are more important than lowest system cost.
· Quiet premium event support: broad diffused illumination around ceremony, hospitality or exhibition areas without continuous inflation-blower noise.
· Film / broadcast support zone: low-flicker, high-CRI LED illumination for technical areas, backlots and support spaces.
· Special custom installation: temporary lighting where noise, visual integration and advanced control are more important than lowest purchase price.
Representative cases are positioning scenarios, not named customer references unless separately approved.
7. Selection Guidance |
· Select AP only when acoustic, visual integration or premium professional requirements justify custom engineering.
· AP is not the lowest-cost or fastest-to-build branch.
· HMI AP suits daylight-oriented professional support; LED AP suits premium low-flicker/high-CRI controllable projects.
· Final sealed-air structure, thermal strategy, height and packing are engineered per project.
8. Commercial Reference
Lead time | Typically 20-35 working days after final technical approval; complex custom engineering or first-article work may require a project-specific schedule. |
Reference warranty | 12 months from shipment against manufacturing defects; final quotation/sales contract governs. |
Customization | Tower height, voltage, plug/cable, CCT/CRI, ballast/driver, control, branding, accessories and packing subject to engineering review. |
Shipping | Air freight, sea LCL/FCL, road/rail where suitable, and project-specific door-to-door logistics. |
Packing note | All dimensions and weights are planning references until the final ordered configuration and shipment packing are confirmed. |
