Columus EN - Entry Normal Series Overview
Product Positioning, Model Range, Applications, Technical Architecture & Commercial Guidance
Final English series guide
1. Series Positioning |
Columus EN - Entry Normal is the entry / essential-function branch of the Columus inflatable light-tower family. It uses oxford fabric or equivalent commercial entry-grade envelope and continuous-air inflatable tower with integrated low-power blower. The series is aimed at general temporary lighting, budget-sensitive rental, local maintenance, portable emergency staging and outdoor utility work.
EN focuses on essential lighting value and simple operation. It deliberately limits source and power combinations to reduce complexity and cost while retaining the core benefit of a portable elevated diffused light tower.
2. Application Difference & Relationship to Other Columus Series
Series | Full Name | Position | Material / Structure | Typical Use
SP | Standard Pro | Professional / upper-standard | Premium translucent flame-retardant, UV-resistant composite envelope | industrial night work, emergency response, rescue, infrastructure, mining, ports, airports, professional event support and film/TV support zones
SE | Standard Economic | Professional value / standardized | Flame-retardant waterproof rip-stop nylon envelope | construction, road works, fire and rescue, municipal maintenance, rental fleets, rail maintenance and general outdoor operations
EN | Entry Normal | Entry / essential-function | Oxford fabric or equivalent commercial entry-grade envelope | general temporary lighting, budget-sensitive rental, local maintenance, portable emergency staging and outdoor utility work
AP | Advance Pro | Premium / low-noise custom-engineered | Multi-layer sealed inner air cell plus protective/diffusing outer envelope; material stack is project-engineered | film and broadcast support, premium event perimeters, acoustically sensitive locations, exhibitions, ceremonies and specialist custom projects
The EN series shares the core Columus concept - an elevated diffused light source for fast temporary area illumination - but differs from the other branches in material, light-source choice, electrical/control sophistication, acoustic behavior and commercial positioning.
3. Model Range | ||||||||||
Model | Source | Power | Reference Output | Recommended Height | 10-20 lx Area
MH400EN | Metal Halide | 400 W | 36,000-39,000 lm legacy reference | 3.0-4.0 m | 354-707 m²
XN200EN | Xenon (XN) | 200 W | Approx. 20,000 lm legacy reference | 2.5-3.0 m | 190-380 m²
XN400EN | Xenon (XN) | 400 W | Approx. 40,000 lm legacy reference | 3.0-4.0 m | 402-804 m²
SMD400EN | LED - AC SMD | 400 W | 44,000-56,000 lm design target | 3.0-4.0 m | 500-1,000 m²
SMD800EN | LED - AC SMD | 800 W | 88,000-112,000 lm design target | 3.0-4.0 m | 1,000-2,000 m²
4. Technical Architecture
Series architecture | Continuous-air inflatable tower with integrated low-power blower
Envelope / structural material | Oxford fabric or equivalent commercial entry-grade envelope
Tower heights | 2.0 / 2.5 / 3.0 / 4.0 / 5.0 m project options; 3.0 and 4.0 m are the most common family heights
Tower body | Approx. 400 mm class; final light head/base dimensions depend on configuration
Wind / weather | Model-specific confirmation required. Exact IP and wind limit follow final approved construction and anchoring.
Power | AC mains / generator across the range; selected low-power XN or COB versions can support DC or AC/DC operation
Branding | Logo / project identification on compatible tower envelopes
Packing | Reinforced export packing, plywood case or reusable flight case; final dimensions/weight reconfirmed before shipment
5. Light-Source Strategy
Technology | Platform | Start/Restrike | Control | Best-use Boundary
Metal Halide | HID metal-halide lamp | Warm-up required; legacy hot-restrike reference approximately 8-10 minutes | On/Off standard; electronic-ballast versions may support enhanced switching or project-specific control | Not preferred where immediate hot restart, very frequent switching or camera-oriented flicker performance is the primary requirement.
Xenon (XN) | Automotive-type xenon / HID lamp modules | Instant / near-instant restrike; well suited to frequent switching | On/Off; multi-circuit switching can be engineered where the lamp arrangement allows | Battery operation is most practical at about 400 W and below. Higher-power XN is normally better on AC/generator because battery size and runtime become less attractive.
LED - AC SMD | Direct-AC SMD LED board | Instant | On/Off standard; optional two-step power switching where configured | Best where simplified construction and lower cost are more important than advanced dimming, DMX or camera-grade flicker performance.
6. Applications & Representative Cases
· Road or utility repair zone: portable 360-degree work-area illumination for short-term night maintenance.
· Fire / rescue staging area: broad scene lighting from mains or a portable generator where instant hot restart is not essential.
· Rail or construction maintenance: quickly deployed temporary tower lighting without a heavy telescopic mast.
· Police checkpoint or temporary traffic-control lane requiring frequent switching and fast restart.
· Portable rescue / inspection operation using a battery package where generator-free mobility is valuable.
· Field camp, forensic or rapid-response work zone requiring compact setup and immediate light output.
· Construction and road work where simple AC operation and low component count are priorities.
· Rental fleet or local contractor use requiring fast deployment and straightforward on/off operation.
Representative cases are positioning scenarios, not named customer references unless separately approved.
7. Selection Guidance |
· Select EN when simple operation, lower system cost and essential functions are more important than advanced control.
· MH400EN is the mature HID baseline.
· XN200EN/XN400EN fit portable rapid-response work and battery-capable low-power requirements.
· SMD400EN/SMD800EN provide the simplified LED route.
8. Commercial Reference
Lead time | Typically 10-18 working days for standard confirmed configurations; customized versions typically 20-35 working days. |
Reference warranty | 12 months from shipment against manufacturing defects; final quotation/sales contract governs. |
Customization | Tower height, voltage, plug/cable, CCT/CRI, ballast/driver, control, branding, accessories and packing subject to engineering review. |
Shipping | Air freight, sea LCL/FCL, road/rail where suitable, and project-specific door-to-door logistics. |
Packing note | All dimensions and weights are planning references until the final ordered configuration and shipment packing are confirmed. |
