Custom Film Balloon Development and Engineering Order Process

A controlled route from production need or rental-house concept to a manufacturable, testable and supportable balloon-light system.

When Custom Development Is Appropriate

· A scene requires a source shape or mounting method not covered by the standard range.

· A rental house needs a differentiated output, voltage, connector or control package.

· An OEM partner has a light engine and requires an inflatable optical/mechanical platform.

· A production needs a low-profile, long, ring-shaped or branded source with defined camera behaviour.

· A replacement or upgraded envelope must interface with existing approved hardware.

Required Enquiry Information

Engineering and Order Flow

1. Requirement review

Confirm intended use, decision makers, non-negotiable constraints and whether a standard Artemis product can solve the need.

2. Feasibility and budgetary concept

Define preliminary geometry, source, power, control, mounting, materials, risk items and a budgetary range.

3. Technical proposal and quotation

Issue the agreed scope, exclusions, planning values, sample/prototype needs, commercial terms and development schedule.

4. Design freeze inputs

Receive approved drawings, light-engine or lamp interfaces, artwork, connector standards, labels and acceptance criteria.

5. Prototype or first article

Build and inspect the critical geometry, light uniformity, thermal behaviour, access, control, rigging and packing solution.

6. Customer review and controlled revision

Record comments, revise only the agreed items and re-freeze the release data.

7. Production and quality control

Manufacture against released drawings and bills of material; inspect seams, electrical assembly, operation, accessories and labelling.

8. Factory acceptance and delivery

Perform the agreed functional test, compile records, pack by module and provide setup/operation information.

9. After-sales and version control

Support replacement soft goods, service parts, future revisions and repeat orders against the approved configuration number.

Important Commercial and Technical Boundaries

· Custom development may include engineering, tooling, sampling or first-article charges separate from production quantity.

· Output and photometric claims must be tied to the approved light engine, diffusion and test condition.

· Rigging approval remains project- and venue-specific; the product documentation does not replace a competent on-site rigging plan.

· DC operation is considered only for LED configurations at 600 W or below. HMI and tungsten Classic systems are AC products.

· Compliance documentation depends on the final bill of material, destination market and ordered test scope.
