B0322 | SERIES OVERVIEW
Artemis Classic Sphere
A traditional large-area HMI, tungsten or hybrid spherical balloon for powerful 360-degree ambience, elevated moonlight and major film-scale night work.
Series Introduction
Artemis Classic Sphere is developed around the sphere form as a deliberate cinematography tool, not simply a decorative balloon. Its role is to create a larger apparent source, soften shadows and place useful light above or beside the set with less floor hardware. The product is configured around the production’s camera movement, mounting plan, power distribution, colour strategy and operating environment.
What Defines the Series
· Spherical diffusion creates broad, natural spread around the source.
· HMI provides established daylight-balanced output; tungsten provides warm dimmable character; hybrid combines both families.
· Helium lift or engineered air suspension is selected from size, lamp weight, cable load and wind.
· Reflective caps and skirts bias output and protect camera headings.
· Lamp, ballast, UV, thermal and hot-restrike procedures form part of the operating package.
Typical Applications
· Major night exteriors and moonlight.
· Large estates, landscapes and water-edge locations.
· Feature stages and backlots.
· Large crowd and action coverage.
· Traditional mixed-source cinematography.
Representative Planning Profiles
Configuration | Indicative size | Indicative source | Power / control | Best fit |
Classic Sphere HMI | Approx. Ø2.5–5 m | 575–2400 W or multi-lamp HMI | AC electronic ballast | High-output daylight ambience |
Classic Sphere Tungsten | Approx. Ø2–5 m | 2–10 kW total project range | AC dimmed circuits | Warm broad ambience |
Classic Sphere Hybrid | Approx. Ø3–5 m | Selected HMI + tungsten combination | Independent AC circuits | Blended colour and output strategy |
How to Select the Right Artemis Form
Choose by the shape of the required luminous field and the physical constraints of the shot. Ellipse favours broad direction; Sphere favours environmental spread; Tube follows a long axis; Pad creates a shallow ceiling; Iris, Xpad and Xhalo solve compact or specialized portable tasks. Source technology is then selected by output, colour, control, power, heat, noise and the rental or ownership model.
Recommended Project Inputs
· Scene and camera coverage plan.
· Target mounting height and available rigging points.
· Required CCT, colour control and dimming method.
· Power source, connector standard and permitted cable path.
· Wind, weather, noise and operating-duration conditions.
· Required documentation, delivery date and service scope.
