Air Tracks and Tumbling Training Mats
One training lane, many response settings—from soft progression to fast tumbling.
Product Positioning
DWF air tracks provide a long, flat and pressure-adjustable surface for gymnastics, cheerleading, martial arts, tricking and general movement training. They offer a spring-like response without the permanent installation and storage volume of a conventional sprung floor.
This page is designed for gymnastics brands, clubs, schools, cheer programs, martial arts academies, home-fitness distributors and event rental companies. The commercial proposition is not limited to lower freight volume. It also includes faster deployment, configurable stiffness, clean flat geometry, repairable construction and the ability to develop private-label variants without the hard tooling normally associated with molded products.
The Customer Problems This Product Solves
· Permanent sprung floors are expensive and immovable.
· Foam lanes take substantial storage and are difficult to clean.
· Athletes need repeatable progression from soft drills to firmer passes.
· Home and club products require different durability and control.
· Poorly designed mats twist, leak or create hard edge transitions.
Structure, Material and Engineering Character
Common thicknesses are 100, 150 and 200 mm. Products include reinforced rails, high-flow or high-pressure valves, center markings, carry handles, anti-slip bottom and end connection flaps. Facility models may use replaceable top covers, linking systems and pressure gauges.
PVC DWF from roughly 1000D upward is typical. Heavier commercial rail packages resist repeated folding and edge impact. TPU versions reduce transport weight. The top surface may use brushed PVC, textile overlay or markings optimized for coaching.
Many users train between about 3–8 psi, while the product’s allowable range may extend higher. Pressure directly changes rebound and sinking; thickness determines available stroke. A coach-controlled pressure chart is more useful than a single “best” value.
Core construction principle: two coated textile faces are connected by thousands of spacer yarns. As pressure rises, those yarns tension and keep the faces at a controlled distance, allowing the chamber to act as a lightweight panel rather than a rounded balloon. Bending stiffness still depends on pressure, thickness, span, boundary support and load distribution; it must be established on the finished product.
Engineering Item | Typical Design Direction | Buyer Decision |
DWF thickness | Usually 50–300 mm by product | Controls stiffness, freeboard, impact travel or wall depth |
Face construction | PVC-laminated, fusion-laminated, woven-core or TPU-faced | Balances mass, cost, folding, abrasion and product positioning |
Rail / edge | Welded or bonded multi-layer perimeter with reinforcement | Often the most critical airtight and structural zone |
Valves | High-pressure service valve; optional relief or secondary chamber valves | Affects inflation time, pressure control and field service |
Quality validation | Pressure retention, seam test, dimensional check and application load test | Finished-product rating must follow evidence, not catalog fabric data |
Reference Product Matrix
The following values are engineering starting points for quotation and prototype discussion. They are not certified ratings and must be refined around the actual load cases, environment, packing target and applicable standard.
Concept | Nominal Size | DWF Depth | Indicative Pressure | Design Intent |
AT-3 Home | 3 × 1 × 0.10 m | 100 mm | 3–6 psi | Basic drills |
AT-8 Club | 8 × 2 × 0.20 m | 200 mm | 3–8 psi | Full training lane |
AT-15 Pro | 15 × 2 × 0.20 m | 200 mm | 3–8 psi | Advanced tumbling / event |
Lighting, Accessories and Installation
Lighting: Optional LED lane-edge markers or removable illuminated targets can support entertainment and interactive training. Lighting should remain low-voltage, impact-protected and detachable.
Installation forms: Placed on a clean level floor, connected to start/landing mats, secured against movement and kept clear of sharp objects. Outdoor use requires a groundsheet and wind control when unoccupied.
Common OEM options include custom dimensions, single or multi-chamber layouts, woven or knitted core selection, PVC or TPU surface systems, anti-slip pads, replaceable wear covers, handles, D-rings, printed graphics, serial labels, repair kits, pumps, gauges, storage bags and project-specific hardware interfaces.
Representative Application Pages and Value Scenarios
Gymnastics clubs
Technique development, tumbling combinations and reduced repetitive impact. The value case should be described through deployment time, transport volume, operator handling, serviceability and the ability to tune pressure or accessories for the site. A representative project should record dimensions, chamber count, inflation pressure, packed size, setup crew, user/load limit, anchoring method and environmental limits.
Cheer and dance
Portable lanes for schools, competitions and camps. The value case should be described through deployment time, transport volume, operator handling, serviceability and the ability to tune pressure or accessories for the site. A representative project should record dimensions, chamber count, inflation pressure, packed size, setup crew, user/load limit, anchoring method and environmental limits.
Martial arts and tricking
Controlled acrobatic training with adjustable rebound. The value case should be described through deployment time, transport volume, operator handling, serviceability and the ability to tune pressure or accessories for the site. A representative project should record dimensions, chamber count, inflation pressure, packed size, setup crew, user/load limit, anchoring method and environmental limits.
Home and mobile coaching
Shorter mats with simplified pumps and storage bags. The value case should be described through deployment time, transport volume, operator handling, serviceability and the ability to tune pressure or accessories for the site. Ideal Buyers and Purchasing Triggers
Ideal buyers include gymnastics brands, clubs, schools, cheer programs, martial arts academies, home-fitness distributors and event rental companies. Typical purchasing triggers are a new rental program, a transport-cost problem, a temporary-site requirement, a private-label product launch, an upgrade from low-pressure tube construction, or a need for a flat inflatable component inside a larger system.
Product Boundary and Responsible Claiming
Not a guarantee against injury and not a replacement for coaching, spotting or appropriate landing zones. Skill level, fall direction, mat movement and surrounding clear space remain critical.
Relevant product classification should be confirmed before testing or marketing. Depending on the use, the project may need to consider floating-leisure standards, inflatable-boat standards, amusement-device standards, camping-tent standards, electrical requirements, public-use furniture rules, medical-device regulation or local occupational safety requirements. A generic DWF material certificate does not certify the final product.
Recommended Factory Validation
· Incoming material verification: thickness, mass, visual defects, coating adhesion and lot traceability.
· Process qualification: welding or bonding settings, seam coupons, reinforcement placement and valve installation.
· 100% leak check and controlled pressure-retention test after conditioning.
· Proof inflation above normal working pressure using a documented, product-specific procedure.
· Static, cyclic, impact, tow, bending or environmental tests selected from the actual use case.
· Final inspection of dimensions, graphics, accessories, labels, instructions and packing method.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why choose 20 cm instead of 10 cm?
A thicker mat offers more deformation travel and usually greater rebound range, but is heavier and changes transition height.
Can the mat stay inflated in a gym?
Yes with routine pressure and seam checks, provided it is protected from heat, sharp objects and unauthorized use.
How is bounce adjusted?
Primarily by pressure, then by athlete mass, mat thickness and the rigidity of the supporting floor.
Can tracks connect end to end?
Yes, with end flaps, hook-and-loop bridges or custom connectors, but joints should not create a trip or hard landing zone.
What should commercial buyers specify?
User group, skill level, size, thickness, pressure range, duty cycle, rail construction, surface markings and validation tests.
